Bloom calendar

Bloom Calendar

The two questions every plant has to answer at once: will it survive your winter, and will it actually be in flower when you want color. Each page here crosses a USDA hardiness zone with a bloom month.

Every page below lists the plants in the BloomsEye library that are both hardy in a given hardiness zone and typically flowering in a given month, taken straight from the catalog's bloom and hardiness data (only combinations with a full grid of plants get a page, so none are thin). Pick your zone, then the month you are planning for. The number beside each month is how many plants qualify.

How this list is made

Derived from each plant's bloom months and USDA hardiness zones, as stored in the BloomsEye library, which was written with AI assistance. Of these 1,785 plants, 723 have been checked against outside sources (112 fully verified); the rest have not been checked yet, and each plant's own page says which. The cards are AI-generated illustrations. Months here are Northern Hemisphere months; in the Southern Hemisphere, shift them by six months.

Looking for when to plant it, rather than when it flowers? That is the Planting Calendar: the same zones, month by month, timed to each zone's typical frost dates.
